Frequently Bowen assists with muscle spasm problems, fatigue and in the bowel/bladder problems which is quite common in many sufferers.
The leading theory about the cause of MS is that it is an autoimmune disease. The Bowen Technique is known to affect the immune system on various levels, so Bowen may well be helping the body to bring more balance to an overactive immune system and thereby cut down on the frequency, potency or damage of MS attacks.
Lesley Coombes and Joanne Wills are both Bowen Practitioners and they also suffer from Multiple Sclerosis. In both cases the reason they became Bowen Practitioners was due to their belief in the benefits that Bowen Technique offers to MS sufferers.
Bowen Technique is by no means a cure for Multiple Sclerosis, but it does appear to offer a level of control and pain management, and in many cases can make an enormous difference to the progression of MS
